Data Protection

We feel committed to protect your personal data. We will store and process your personal data within the framework of the tasks assigned to us and in line with legal requirements. By means of this Privacy Statement, we want to inform you about the manner, extent and purpose of collecting, using and storing your personal data and about your rights connected therewith.

1. COLLECTION, PROCESSING AND USE OF PERSONAL DATA

For visiting our websites you are not required to indicate any data. Personal data such as name, address and bank details will only be collected by us to the extent necessary to fulfil our duties, always provided that you disclose them voluntarily in the process of contract conclusion and execution. Any data collected will only be used by us for the purpose of implementing the contract. After the contract has been completely fulfilled, your data will be blocked and after expiry of the legal fiscal and commercial regulations be deleted, unless you have given your explicit consent to a continued use of such data.

In order to optimise our web presence, we collect and store additional anonymised access data with no personal connection, for instance date and time when the website was called up, the site from which you have accessed our site, the name of your web service provider, the name of the requested file, the volume of the transferred data volume and the like. All this will be done on an anonymised basis without personally identifying the user of the site. If necessary, user profiles will be created by means of a pseudonym. In this context, too, there will not be any connection between the person standing behind the pseudonym and the collected user data. We ourselves deliberately do not use cookies. From a technical point of view, however, it cannot be excluded that cookies will nevertheless be used when our websites are visited because certain browsers make use of this technique also without our help.

2. MEDICAL DATA

Apart from the personal data required for contract conclusion and implementation, the fulfilment of our contractual duties is often subject to a collection, storage and, as the case may be, disclosure of personal medical data. We will store and use such data exclusively in order to fulfil our duties arising from the medical insurance contract which has come into being via us or via our intermediation services or from any other contractual relationship which has come into existence via us or via our services.

3. DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA TO THIRD-PARTY CONTRACTORS INVOLVED IN THE INSURANCE RELATIONSHIP

The insurer has engaged us to implement the contractual relationship to its full extent, i.e. we are responsible for initiating and implementing (e.g. billing and settlement) the contract as well as for processing claims. Particularly in case of claims, personal and especially medical data must be collected, stored and forwarded. Such data, which will be relatable to certain persons, will be transmitted to the respective client to the places where they are needed for implementing the contract and stored and processed at such places, too. This will particularly apply to the insurance company that looks after your contract and can be learned from your contract documents.

Such data transfers will be subject to your explicit consent. You have made or will make a corresponding statement in the course of concluding your contract. Said statement may be revoked at any time. In the event of a revocation, we will, however, be entitled to terminate the contractual relationship because the contract cannot be implemented without disclosing data as explained above.

We explicitly confirm that we will at no time disclose or even sell your data for advertising purposes, not even to our business partners, i.e. to third-party contractors involved in the insurance relationship.

4. DATA SAFETY

Your personal data will be safe with us. The data communication with our websites is encrypted by means of the SSL standard and transmitted to us (recognisable by the start of our IP address with »https://«). By means of technical measures, our websites are protected against damage, destruction and unauthorised access.

Also when transmitting personal data to third parties in the course of the execution of our contractual tasks, we make use of a safe and secure end-to-end encryption.

Please note that a data transfer by e-mail is, as a rule, not safe. If transmitting sensible data, we therefore recommend using the postal service or our web upload form (https://webupload.bdae.com).

5. RIGHT TO INFORMATION AND DELETION

You will at any time receive information on the data stored with us without charge and without being required to state the reasons for your request. You will also at any time be able to have the data collected by us blocked, corrected or deleted, unless there is a statutory duty to store them (such as, e.g., in case of tax-relevant billing and settlement data). You will at any time be permitted to revoke the consent given by you for the collection and use of data without being required to indicate the reasons therefor. For this purpose, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or the BDAE Holding GmbH, Kühnehöfe 3, 22761 Hamburg (also by fax message via +49-40-30 68 74-90).
